Why It Matters

Vaisakhi marks the establishment of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji on April 13, 1699, when he initiated the first five Sikhs (Panj Pyare) and created the distinctive Sikh identity. It is the most important day in Sikh history.

Nagar Kirtan (processions with the Guru Granth Sahib), Amrit Sanchar (Khalsa initiation ceremony), Gurdwara services, Langar (community meal), singing Kirtan, remembering Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sacrifice.
