Why It Matters

Laylat al-Qadr falls in the last 10 nights of Ramadan (traditionally the 27th) and is described in the Quran as "better than a thousand months." It is the night the Quran was first revealed and a night of extraordinary divine mercy.

How It Is Observed

Staying awake the entire night in prayer, Quran recitation, and supplication. Many Muslims make itikaf (spiritual retreat) in the mosque for the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Power. And what can make you know what is the Night of Power? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
