Why It Matters
Shruta Panchami honors the compilation of Jain scripture and the tradition of heard knowledge. In Digambara tradition it commemorates the day the monks Pushpadanta and Bhutabali completed writing the Shatkhandagama, preserving the scriptural knowledge they had received from Acharya Dharasena.
