Why It Matters
On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther sent his 95 Theses to Archbishop Albrecht of Mainz and, according to tradition, posted them on the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church, sparking the Protestant Reformation. This single act changed the course of Western Christianity and history.
