Why It Matters
Easter is the most important Christian holiday, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. Christians believe this event conquered sin and death and offers eternal life to all who believe.
How It Is Observed
Easter Vigil, sunrise services, Easter Sunday Mass, baptism of new members, egg hunts (in Western culture), special meals, wearing new clothes as a symbol of new life.
