Analects-15 β Chapter 10
The Master said, "A true gentleman is concerned about his own lack of ability, not about whether others recognize him or not."
The Master said, "A true gentleman cannot be known in small things, but can be entrusted with great matters. A lesser person cannot be entrusted with great matters, but can be known in small things."
The Master said, "A true gentleman seeks what is right; a lesser person seeks what is profitable."
The Master said, "What you do not wish done to yourself, do not do to others."
The Master said, "A person who has committed a mistake and doesn't correct it is committing another mistake."
The Master said, "I once spent a whole day without eating and a whole night without sleeping in order to think. It was no use. It is better to study."
